Adjustable Rubberwood Desk Lamp

Warm timber and a coloured metal shade give this desk lamp a friendly, practical character. The rubberwood base and upright bring natural grain into the workspace, while the shade adds a neat contrast above. Its familiar desk-lamp proportions feel at home beside a laptop, a notebook or a small stack of books. White and black offer a restrained look; green, yellow and pink let the lamp become a more playful part of the room’s palette.

The head can be angled to direct light towards the surface you are using. That makes the lamp useful beside a chair or at the edge of a desk, where a fixed decorative shade may not point where you need it. Keep the base on a level surface with room to adjust the head comfortably. A plain wall behind the lamp makes the wood and colour combination especially clear, while woven or linen accessories help carry the warmth of the timber into the wider room.

At 45 cm high with a 15 cm base, the lamp has a narrow tabletop footprint beneath its raised shade. It uses a separately supplied E27 bulb and a button control. Choose a compatible bulb to create the light tone you prefer; the bulb choice determines that effect. This is a straightforward way to combine a directional bedside or desk light with a material detail that looks considered even when the lamp is switched off.
