The Strata Wall Light

Slices of alabaster, climbing the wall and lit from behind.

The Strata builds a wall light from rough-edged pieces of alabaster, overlapped like scales and held on brass-finish fixings. The LEDs sit behind the stone, so the light glows through the alabaster and spreads as a warm halo on the wall rather than shining into the room. Take a single piece as an accent, or a column of nine at 78 cm tall.

• Natural alabaster: edges left irregular, with veining and translucency that differ on every piece.
• Backlit, not spotlit: concealed LEDs light the stone and the wall behind it.
• Six heights: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 or 9 pieces, from 18 to 78 cm tall.
• Close to the wall: 13 cm wide, with a projection of 9 cm.

Made for hallways, stairways and either side of a bed — walls that need texture as much as light.
